I have been lucky enough to be trying out some fabulous Isobaa clothes over the past couple of weeks. And, as usual, they do not disappoint! The thing that first drew me to their beautiful selection of Merino clothing was the lovely colour range and combinations – just so rich and warm and that little bit unique.

One of the items I have had the pleasure of wearing is the Women’s Merino 200 Long Sleeve Zip Neck top and I opted for the Petrol and Lime combination which looks so, so beautiful in real life. I decided to wear it over a short-sleeved merino t-shirt for a summer hike in my favourite spot – the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. Being July in Northern Ireland, the weather throughout the day varied from warm and cloudy to warm and sunny to bright and chilly and the Long Sleeve Zip Neck top was a great ally for all these conditions. I didn’t need a jacket all day as I felt snug and cosy in the softest fabric this top is made of, but I wasn’t too hot either – the perks of merino is that it keeps you warm when it’s cold and breathes well when it’s warm.

You know there are just some items of clothing you pull on and they fit comfortably and feel light and non-restrictive? Well, this lightweight top is exactly one of those garments. I lead a very active lifestyle and need my clothes to work for me and I can honestly say that during a 3-peak trek I was able to move freely and easily and did not overheat or feel cold throughout.

One of my favourite things about the Isobaa clothing is the attention to detail that just gives it that little edge and assures you that you’re wearing a top quality item. From flatlock stitching to reduce chaffing, drop hem styles for extra coverage (great with a backpack on!), embroidered logos and folded hem labels, it’s easy to see that lots of thought and attention to detail has been put into the design and production. Another great perk is that all products arrive in beautiful, recycled packaging.

I foresee this top becoming a staple in my wardrobe and carrying me beyond the summer months well into Autumn and Winter. It is the ideal thickness to form a component in a layering system that’s not bulky and restrictive – an all-round functional and attractive top that is unbelievably cosy. Another super item from the Isobaa team!
