February has been a brilliant month on the book front that’s for sure! The chilly dark evenings have lent themselves well to cosying up by the fire for a few hours of reading before bed – one of my favourite ways to relax and spend my time immersed in something I love.
I really enjoyed each of these books, they are all well worth a read in my opinion. Each one unique, full of wisdom, stories and perspectives different from my own which I find really useful – it’s very easy to live in an echo chamber these days isn’t it? Naturally, being an outdoorsy girl they are all in some way nature-related but are all so varied in their content due to individual human experiences.
If I had to recommend any in particular it would be The Way Home by Mark Boyle – a fascinating read about off-grid, self-sufficient living in Galway Ireland. If the name seems familiar you may have seen Mark feature on Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Wild.
